Hello! I’m Sekai, a virtual reporter who wants to help you discover the appeal of character goods, both old and new. Today, I’d like to pick up some elegant and friendly tableware made through a collaboration between “Doraemon,” a popular cartoon character, and Hasami-yaki, a traditional Japanese craft. Hasamiyaki, which is usually hard to get hold of, somehow seems more familiar to us when it is designed by Doraemon.

This time we will introduce Hasamiyaki plates with Doraemon designs. Hasamiyaki is considered a traditional handicraft because of its delicacy and elegance. It is a surprise and exciting that such Hasamiyaki has collaborated with Doraemon, a nationally known cartoon character! Let’s take a look at it now.

The small plate measures 10cm x 10cm x 2cm and can be used for lunch, dinner, tea time, and a wide range of other daily activities. The beauty of the white porcelain and the indigo color of the transparent gozu, which is one of the charm points of Hasamiyaki pottery, attracts the eye. Combined with the cuteness of Doraemon, once you use it, you won’t be able to part with it!

There are three designs in total, each of which brings out the best of Hasamiyaki and Doraemon. Each one comes in its own box, making it the perfect little gift! I used to think that Hasami-yaki was difficult to handle, but with the Doraemon design, even small children will be able to use it comfortably. Please take a peek at the other photos on each detail page!

Here is a selection of Doraemon plates. Please check them out as well!

How was it? We hope you have a wonderful encounter with our characters…
